Changing a digipak into a different genre

This is our groups planning for changing the genre of the Digipak. The original album cover is The XX which comes under the indie pop genre. We decided to change this into a singer song writer Digipak. We chose the background with floral because, it links in with the artist being quite innocent, for example Gabrielle Aplin. This helps the audience focus more on the music rather than the star image. This also shows the target audience, which would be teenage girls as the cover will appeal to them more. This was easy to change into a different genre, because there weren’t any images of people. If there was then we would of have to change all the aspects of mise-en-scene to be able to change the genre of it. This is something that we need to think about when creating our Digipak as, the showing of the genre is very important. This will help the audience identify what  kind of genre the artist is, which will help them decide whether they want to buy the album or not.

Working on teachers feedback:

This task has enhanced my understanding of incorporating genre into my Digipak design because; it has shown me by from just changing the colours of this Digipak it completely changes the genre. This means that when creating ours we need to make sure that we have the right colours and editing for the audience to be able to tell that it is the right genre. From incorporating genre it will be easier for the audience to know what genre it is, which will persuade them to buy the album as the Digipak shows the type of genre that they like.
